With 2008 being our first year as the coordinators for the Hats for Hides Program, we are looking forward to hearing from the Ontario Big Game Hunting Community. To clarify, the Hats for Hides Program is funded by CORDA (Canada Ontario Resource Development Agreement), not the MNR. Recently a steering committee, consisting of representatives from the MNR, OFAH, Program Coordinators and Depot Collectors has been established to guide the program within the allotted funds.

Based on number of deer and moose hides collected in the past few years, it has been determined that 40,000 hats and crests will be available to exchange for good hides for the 2008/2009 hunting season.

There will also be 5000 crests to exchange for good small deer hides (under 6 square feet). Please refer to our "how to care for your hide" tab above and click on the “poster” sign for more information regarding good hides and spoiled hides.

Our endeavor is to keep this program going, So you the Big Game Hunter have the option to exchange your hide for a hat or crest if you chose to.
